Greene County sheriff Steve Haupert brought the canine unit to his Nov. 6 Wednesday Community Fellowship presentation. Those present were very impressed with the information about the canine unit.
The sheriff’s office is in the process of getting a younger dog that will be both sniff and bite trained. No tax dollars are used for the canine unit; it is supported only by donations.
After the program Trinity Lutheran Church decided to make a special donation to the canine unit. Pictured is Trinity Lutheran chairman David Pedersen (left) presenting a check to canine handler chief deputy Jack Williams.
“Please consider giving to this very important unit of our county law enforcement agency,” a Trinity Lutheran spokesperson said.
